Small Ensemble Bass Drum,Cimbalon,Gong,Multi-Percussion,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.835820 Composed by Paul Burnell. Contemporary. Score and parts. 11 pages. Paul Burnell #4805257. Published by Paul Burnell (A0.835820). The Troubles of an Automaton, or The Table and the Chair. Composed Paul Burnell 2019. Duration c.5:45 (c.6:30 if performed with optional additional ending and A6 narration) For Cimbalom or other instruments, three Gongs, Bass Drum and Narrator Text: Clementina Maria Black (1853-1922) / Edward Lear (1812-1888)Note: The associated recording is of the version using the text by Clementina Maria Black. First performed by Jordan Wright-Murray on 30 May 2019. The Cimbalom part may be played on a chromatic hammered dulcimer or hackbrett or any other instruments. Gongs - ideally 3 bossed/tuned gongs, non-specific pitches: high, medium, low. Bass drum - ideally an orchestral bass drum. The octave lower transposition indications in the cimbalom part are optional and when given beneath two-note chords only apply to the lower note. From bar 62 to the end the cimbalom may be played an octave higher than written. The cimbalom and gongs are played laissez vibrer throughout. The bass drum is played laissez vibrer, except where marked with x on stem (for example in bar 32), indicating dead stick technique. The narrator may choose one of two texts: A: The Troubles of an Automaton (Excerpt) by Clementina Maria Black B: The Table and the Chair by Edward Lear. The start of each section of Narrator text is indicated in the score with boxed text. Where necessary the end of a text section is shown as unboxed text. The additional section after Fine 1, starting at bar 101, is optional and can be performed with or without the A6 narration. It is also possible to perform the whole piece without the Narrator, provided the texts are available to the audience.Programme note: This piece may be performed with one of two texts: 'The Troubles of an Automaton (Excerpt)' or 'The Table and the Chair'. 'The Troubles of an Automaton' was written by Clementina Maria Black (1853-1922) and published in the New Quarterly Magazine in 1876. The story begins with a fictional advertisement announcing a public exhibition of Mr. Slade's Famous Chess-Playing Automaton. 'The Table and the Chair' by Edward Lear (1812 - 1888) appeared in his collection 'Nonsense Songs' published in 1870. In the poem a table and a chair go for a walk around town, become lost, are taken back to their house by a group of small animals, and then dine and dance together.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.918277 Arranged by Brenda Dillon. Classical,Standards. Score. 3 pages. Dillon's Music Group #6052687. Published by Dillon's Music Group (A0.918277). To A Wild Rose is included in Classical Interpretations Collection. For piano students of all ages, Edward MacDowell's To a Wild Rose can bring back memories of first learning the piece, performing it on a recital, and wondering what prompted MacDowell to write it. It's reported that his love for roses was so great that he was buried under a boulder, around which many rose plants grew.About the arranger: Brenda Dillon is best known for her contributions to the Recreational Music Making movement. She served on the RMM Committee that designed the RMM Track for MTNA's Pedagogy Saturday. She also presented group piano and RMM sessions throughout the U.S. In addition to serving as a teacher trainer, she has written extensive articles on both group piano and RMM teaching. She has publications with Hal Leonard and Alfred Music listed on her website (www.brendadillon.com).

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088848 By Edward Mote. By William Batchelder Bradbury. Arranged by Hannah Pierre. Praise & Worship,Sacred,Traditional. Score. 7 pages. Hannah Pierre #687653. Published by Hannah Pierre (A0.1088848). This arrangement portrays a Christian's stability during life's storms. When grounded in Jesus, nothing can sway the believer from faith in his Savior. Intended for the advanced pianist, this piece is very picturesque- from the firm statement of the first stanza to the triumphant conviction of the last stanza. The waves and thunderings of the storm fluctuate throughout the music, but the robust and unmoving faith of the believer is clearly evident. This arrangement was born under the coaching of Dr. Michael Baldwin during high school and later matured under the direction of Mrs. Faye Lopez during the beginnings of a worldwide pandemic. The words of this precious hymn have brought peace to the arranger time and again. It is her hope that this arrangement will continue to be a blessing to many others.

Small Ensemble Alto Recorder,Baritone Recorder,Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.842538 Composed by Various (Collection). Arranged by B. Brennan. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and parts. 24 pages. Bl_music #5290011. Published by bl_music (A0.842538). Calisthenics for Treble/Alto Recorder 15 Solo-Etudes, Gallops, Polkas, Variations (notation: treble clef) 15 entertaining solo-etudes: Rondos, Polkas, Gallops, Variations….. all suitable for intermediate to advanced students as well as professionals; as exercises for the fingers, just for the fun of it or as (shorter) concert /contest pieces or encores. What are Calisthenics? You’ve all come across them in one form or another….mainly probably in caricatures of Victorian or Edwardian men in boldly striped sportswear lifting heavy weights or Victorian ladies elegantly waving their arms around(see photo) We found the idea of daily exercises in combination with utterly lovely tunes so intriguing that we decided to call our latest publication Calisthenics The music combines training of speed, thumb technique, interpretation. Short: another great fun and educational publication. The word calisthenics is derived from the Greek, kalos, beautiful; and sthenos, strength; the object of calisthenic exercises being to secure physical beauty by developing the limbs and muscles of the human frame, and making the joints flexible, thereby giving strength and power, and ensuring a graceful carriage, erect bearing, and freedom to the figure. In the words of the old Victorians: The highest refinement of that beauty is unattainable without splendour of activity and delicate strength. Exercise is now recognised to be as great a necessity in woman's education as in man's we are learning that many bodily defects and much of her weak health is attributable to the want of it; more especially in youth, when the frame is growing. Such exercises must, however, be carried out under a system; irregularly conducted, they do more harm than good. The constitution must be coaxed, not strained; the strength not unduly taxed, no over-fatigue ensuing; for exhaustion makes people look worn and old. The exertion must not be too violent, and the health and physical development of each pupil must be specially studied. Early morning or evening are the best times to select, but on no account immediately after a meal. The clothing should not be too warm, nor interfere in any way with the action of the limbs. A musical accompaniment will best preserve the necessary rhythm - the time, four or eight beats to a bar; failing this, the pupils should be taught to sing or count in concert, thereby keeping up their interest and zest. A castanet will, failing better means, help to mark the time with or without music. One of our aims is to revive these compositions and bring them to the attention of players and audiences.
